Sioux City, IA — April 2, 2026 — Community leaders Jeana Goosmann and Blake Gunderson are inviting the Sioux City community to come together for an evening that blends connection, creativity, and impact.
“Party with a Purpose” will take place Thursday, April 2 from 4:30–6:30 PM at the Sioux City Art Center, benefiting Children’s Nebraska’s Carolyn Scott Rainbow House.
This special event will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a live auction of original artwork created by children, along with remarks from Children’s Nebraska President & CEO, Chanda Chacón.
The Carolyn Scott Rainbow House is more than a place to stay—it’s a lifeline for families traveling long distances for a child’s medical care. The 56-room hospitality house provides 100% complimentary lodging for families, easing both emotional and financial burdens during some of life’s most difficult moments.
In 2025 alone, the Rainbow House:• Served 32,717 guests• Provided 12,206 occupied room nights• Supported families from 90+ miles away (majority from the Siouxland area)• Offered 225 evenings of community-donated meals
“All of us have a moment where we’re asked to show up for something bigger than ourselves,” said Goosmann. “This is one of those moments.”
Registration is currently open, and community members are encouraged to attend, donate, or share the opportunity.

A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.
GODSPELL is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.mtishows.com
